The project dedicated to the study of the Monti Lucretili landscape has progressively integrated strategies for the active engagement of local communities in field research. This approach combines the analysis of material and stratigraphic data with participatory practices aimed at the co-production and sharing of knowledge, with direct effects for archaeological interpretation. In 2024-2025, thanks to the CHANGES project, the first two excavation campaigns were carried out at Montefalco in Sabina castle (RM). In order to raise awareness and engage the local population in the excavation activities, participatory initiatives were designed for all phases of the investigation, from planning to dissemination. The methodological framework adopted, based on a structured synergy among the different actors operating in the area, demonstrates how the integration of archaeological research and community participation can enrich scientific knowledge while also providing an effective model for the future enhancement of cultural heritage and historical landscapes.

Abstract
The methodological framework adopted, based on a structured synergy among the different actors operating in the area, demonstrates how the integration of archaeological research and community participation can enrich scientific knowledge while also providing an effective model for the future enhancement of cultural heritage and historical landscapes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
