The text analyzes the evolution of the cartographic representation of space, closely linked to its naming, from the history of terrestrial geography and cartography to the perspective of an exogeography applied to the Solar System and beyond. It focuses on the process of naming and intellectual appropriation of places, both on Earth and in Space, highlighting how this act reflects the human imagination and the process of exploration and expansion of identified boundaries, real or imaginary. The recent paradigm shift, which considers the Cosmos as a setting for human activities, introduces a discontinuity with the past, requiring new methodologies of study. The author therefore proposes a reflection on the modes of intellectual and material appropriation of new cosmic spaces (New Extraterrestrial World) and their naming, suggesting a parallel with terrestrial geographical practices.

Abstract
The text analyzes the evolution of the cartographic representation of space, closely linked to its naming, from the history of terrestrial geography and cartography to the perspective of an exogeography applied to the Solar System and beyond. It focuses on the process of naming and intellectual appropriation of places, both on Earth and in Space, highlighting how this act reflects the human imagination and the process of exploration and expansion of identified boundaries, real or imaginary. The recent paradigm shift, which considers the Cosmos as a setting for human activities, introduces a discontinuity with the past, requiring new methodologies of study. The author therefore proposes a reflection on the modes of intellectual and material appropriation of new cosmic spaces (New Extraterrestrial World) and their naming, suggesting a parallel with terrestrial geographical practices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
