The conclusions of the book "Datificazione e cittadinanza Le trasformazioni della Pubblica Amministrazione in Italia" show that the digitalisation of Public Administration is not merely a technical process but a social and political transformation reshaping the relationship between the State and citizens. Digital access can expand opportunities and services, but it can also reproduce or deepen existing inequalities when skills, resources, and capacities for navigating institutions are unevenly distributed. Digital citizenship thus increasingly becomes a condition for exercising social citizenship. To prevent new forms of exclusion, public services must be designed for accessibility, support and mediation must be strengthened, intermediaries must be recognised, and transparency, trust, and the protection of citizens’ rights must be ensured throughout digital interactions with public institutions.

Abstract
The conclusions of the book "Datificazione e cittadinanza Le trasformazioni della Pubblica Amministrazione in Italia" show that the digitalisation of Public Administration is not merely a technical process but a social and political transformation reshaping the relationship between the State and citizens. Digital access can expand opportunities and services, but it can also reproduce or deepen existing inequalities when skills, resources, and capacities for navigating institutions are unevenly distributed. Digital citizenship thus increasingly becomes a condition for exercising social citizenship. To prevent new forms of exclusion, public services must be designed for accessibility, support and mediation must be strengthened, intermediaries must be recognised, and transparency, trust, and the protection of citizens’ rights must be ensured throughout digital interactions with public institutions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
