In Mohaddeseh Rabbaninia’s (Maha) artistic practice, philosophical thought and painting naturally intertwine, creating a fertile In-Between space: a zone of mediation in which memory, identity, and history are continuously renegotiated. The works featured in the exhibition Forgotten Mediations are situated within this generative territory, which also allows to rethink the Archive as a transformative and non-linear practice, overturning dominant canons and patriarchal perspectives. By bringing together academic research—specifically her studies on Hegelian aesthetics—and painterly practice, Rabbaninia contributed to the project Hegelian Constellations of the Feminine: A Hyper-Archive for an Inclusive Bildung. For this project, she created paintings that visually represent the feminine Hegelian constellation explored by the research: six women who interacted, directly or indirectly, with the philosopher and his cultural legacy, yet were marginalized by history.
