Specialized education experiences in Architectonical Restoration, activated within the Department in Architecture of RomaTre University of Rome (Master and Professional Master’s degree ), are characterized by didactics encouraging projects which are strongly influenced by history. In labs and classes you can learn how to project in harmony with urban and environmental contexts, and to restore past architecture with philological method, in order to give back the peculiar beauty to historical city centers and landscapes and in order to give back multiple identities to Italian heritage. These formative experiences occur in very close operation with the administration in command of protection (particularly the Public Administration of Rome and Lazio and the Municipal Superintendence of Rome), with the participation of several specialized enterprises. Their aim is to offer real contributes of studies and projects (in this issue those about the Torre dei Conti ) in order to give back “the sense of past’s presence to the current world” (G. Urbani), and encourage a sustainable development based on a rebirth of cultures, jobs and local economics.
