En El retorno de Ulises, Gonzalo Torrente Ballester reescribe el mito de Ulises y Penélope, desde una perspectiva insólita y sorprendente, capaz de desestabilizar nuestro horizonte de expectativas adoptando una postura irónica de gran eficacia. En el presente trabajo se analiza el tratamiento de los personajes homéricos, en busca, sobre todo, de los elementos que apartan las creaturas torrentinas de sus modelos tradicionales.
