Charlotte Perkins Stetson, “The Yellow Wall-Paper” e l'estetica del Transparente.

Abstract
Charlotte Perkins Stetson, “The Yellow Wall-Paper” and the Aesthetics of Transparence. In “The Yellow Wall-Paper” young Gilman explores the ways in which the reader’s attention can be captured and directed towards aspects that belong to the new domain of visual culture. By tackling the theme of the visible beyond appearances, Gilman anticipates some of the techniques that will be developed in the twentieth century, ultimately leading to an ongoing confrontation between the individual and gender-specific (among other attributes) modalities of seeing. The use of unpublished documents and drawings and of an interdisciplinary methodological approach based on literary and performance studies reveals an original treatment of this classic play.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
