The article analyses the relationship between history and law from the judicial and historical standpoint of the events - which happened in less than 24 hours in 1944 in occupied (by German troops)Rome. The over 30 decisions concerning those fact often do not coincide with their historical reconstruction. What are the realms of historical research and of adjudication, and to what extent they influence each other.
