The recent (e, 2e) experiments at intermediate energy and momentum transfer propose harsh challenges to the current electron impact ionization models. Three body long range Coulomb interactions and interference between direct and resonant ionization channels are shown to be the most relevant features of the ionising collision still to be properly accounted for by the theory. A selection of instructive results not explained by the existent models is presented.

Abstract
The recent (e, 2e) experiments at intermediate energy and momentum transfer propose harsh challenges to the current electron impact ionization models. Three body long range Coulomb interactions and interference between direct and resonant ionization channels are shown to be the most relevant features of the ionising collision still to be properly accounted for by the theory. A selection of instructive results not explained by the existent models is presented.File in questo prodotto:
