The strategic approach to urban transformation is called upon to combine certainty in timing and procedures with flexibility of its “road map”, scarcity of resources with multiplicity of actors (public and private, institutional and not). This ground is being explored in the French case, paying attention to innovative governance models, and to the different declinations of sustainability issues within regeneration practices as well.
