Main goal of the project is highest visual comfort and energy saving with different use and furniture layout, considering the house will be produced in large numbers for different users. Indoor systems have been designed with variable layout, aiming and optics, with two level of intervention: in occasion of initial furnishing and during daily use. Lighting is managed by a building automation system, equipped with presence and Daylighting sensors, and human interfaces with users scenarios. For outdoor needs a stand alone system, fed by photovoltaic and eolic devices, has been developed. All systems, with LED technology, have been custom developed for Medinitaly and have originated new patents. Lighting system project gave a contribution to several prizes, Medinitaly acheived in Solardecathlon competition: Architecture,Electrical Energy Balance, House Functioning, Sustainability, up to the third position in final ranking. Abstract

Research further development are in progress and will be seen in next Solardecathlon Europe, Paris 2014. The paper describes project and installation and analyses energy saving that Medinitaly system can achieve respect traditional solutions. Simulation data have been compared with measured data in the period of Solardecathlon competition.
