The article tells the experience of LAC (Laboratorio Arti Civiche di Roma Tre) in São Francisco, a "favela" of 35,000 people northeast of Sao Paulo that Sehab - Secreteria Municipal de Habitação -is transforming into a "town". This is the first Jornada de Habitação from the exhibition "São Paulo Calling", curated by Stefano Boeri, The walk takes a different path than the one established and previously negotiated, even in areas where perhaps we should not have appeared without due notice. Here, today, the claim for the house is starting not to be the most urgent need. Those people who lived in shacks along mud roads and under constant threat of landslides and floods, finally have a home in condos not too different from predios (palaces) of the middle class. The fight for the right to housing is transforming into the struggle for the right to A city, and the urgency that brings people back shouting in the streets is the right to health.
L’articolo racconta dell’esperienza del LAC (Laboratorio Arti Civiche di Roma Tre) a São Francisco, una favela di 35.000 persone a nord est di São Paolo che la Sehab - Secreteria Municipal de Habitação sta trasformando in “città”. È la prima Jornada da Habitação della mostra “São Paolo Calling” a cura di Stefano Boeri. Si cammina lungo un percorso diverso da quello stabilito e negoziato precedentemente, anche in zone dove forse non saremmo dovuti apparire senza preavviso. Oggi qui problema della casa comincia a non essere più l’urgenza principale, chi abitava in baracche lungo strade di fango e sotto continua minaccia di frane e allagamenti, ha finalmente una casa in condomini non troppo diversi dai predios (palazzi) della classe media. La lotta per il diritto alla casa si sta trasformando in lotta per il diritto alla città, e la prima necessità che riporta la gente a gridare in strada è quella della salute.
