The first educational experiment conducted on academic year 2011-2012, with the students of the laboratory “Methods and tools of geographic research”, to realise a GIS or a Webmapping about the Roma Tre University offices and services, to provide help to those who need to move in south-west part of Rome, was fully satisfactory. From being a simple teaching exercise, this test has become a good application model leading to very concrete results. For this reason, the work has been revised and implemente. After the realizations of a WebGIS (updated with input from web users), some digital cartography and a printed map distributed within the Faculty of Humanities (“Sights of Roma Tre”, at a scale of 1:10,000 and 1:5,000 for an expanded stretch of the Via Ostiense where is greater density of points of interest), an Mobile Guide was created by combining the use of different languages and platforms. One of the main aspects taken into account for the realization of the product was the possibility of using it in mobile mode, since is meant to be a live guide in the widespread campus of Roma Tre (the “Online Guide of Roma Tre” is available on the website: http://host.uniroma3.it/laboratori/labgeo/).
