At a century of distance, this paper aims to highlight the similarities between the researches conducted in the respective fields (science and art), in 1912, by Max Wertheimer and Giacomo Balla. Max Wertheimer with the publication of “Experimentelle Studien über das von Sehen Bewegung” (Experimental Studi same year, inside the Futurism avant-garde, gave an outstanding contribution to the analysis and the representation of dynamic movement with static images. Although they never met, interesting similarities between Wertheimer’s research on apparent motion and three artworks painted by Balla in 1912 can be found.
