The paper briefly illustrates the main differences between the first and the second Chinese translation of Saussure's Cours de linguistique générale. The well-known linguist Gao Mingkai ended the first translation in the sixties, although it was published much later, in 1980, whereas the second translation was edited by Pei Wen and published in 2002, with many changes, both in the terminology and regarding the style adopted.
