The present status of the ESO key-programme "A homogeneous bright QSO survey" is described together with the first results concerning the QSO counts and the optical luminosity function. The related analysis of the evolution of the radio and X-ray selected QSOs is also presented. Finally the authors report on the status of their programs aimed at the creation (with the MEFOS/ESO-3.6 m and the 2dF/AAT) of large samples of QSOs (20000 B < 21) and galaxies (50000 B < 20) in order to study the large scale structure and the clustering evolution.

Abstract
The present status of the ESO key-programme "A homogeneous bright QSO survey" is described together with the first results concerning the QSO counts and the optical luminosity function. The related analysis of the evolution of the radio and X-ray selected QSOs is also presented. Finally the authors report on the status of their programs aimed at the creation (with the MEFOS/ESO-3.6 m and the 2dF/AAT) of large samples of QSOs (20000 B < 21) and galaxies (50000 B < 20) in order to study the large scale structure and the clustering evolution.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
