The Flora of the Gabii-Castiglione area has been investigated in this work. The site is localized in the eastern district of the Campagna Romana and includes important archaeological remains. In this area we have listed 359 taxa, belonging to 72 families and 249 genera; these data testify the floristic richness of this site. Some species are rare (or absent) in the Rome municipality (Erysimum pseudorhaeticum, Rosa balsamica, Sternbergia lutea) while other ones (Sedum caespitosum, Viola kitaibeliana) are rare in Latium region also. Life forms analysis shows the dominance of therophytic and hemicryptophytic elements, while both Mediterranean and Euroasiatic chorotypes emerge from a phytogeographical point of view. The importance of the archaeological sites as bioreserves of spontaneous species is underlined.
