Severino Di Giovanni (Chieti 1901 - Buenos Aires 1931) was one of the anarchists in Argentina most famous in the 1920s for his violent revolts against public and private institutions. Executed by firing squad on the orders of the dictatorial government of General José Félix Uriburu, he is remembered as a fierce and ambitious man. This paper analyses some of the literary sources dating from after his death which, minimising his political aims, depict Severino as a legendary figure.
Severino Di Giovanni (Chieti 1901 - Buenos Aires 1931) è stato negli anni '20 del Novecento uno degli anarchici più famosi in Argentina per i suoi attentati contro istituzioni pubbliche e private. Condannato a morte dal governo del generale José Félix Uriburu, Di Giovanni è ricordato come un uomo violento e ambizioso. Il saggio analizza l'immaginario su di lui dopo la sua morte evidenziando come la letteratura abbia contribuito a delinearne una figura leggendaria.
