A simplifed and very effective equivalent network model of a one dimensional Photonic Band Gap (1D-PBG) microstrip line for the harmonic tuning of Active Integrated Antenna (AIA) amplifiers is proposed in this paper. A parametric analysis of the transmission line reflection and transmission features is also presented showing the dependence of the stopband characteristics on the main geometrical parameters. Finally, the main effects of the proposed PBG filter in an AIA amplifier design are pointed out including harmonic tuning and output power increase.

Abstract
A simplifed and very effective equivalent network model of a one dimensional Photonic Band Gap (1D-PBG) microstrip line for the harmonic tuning of Active Integrated Antenna (AIA) amplifiers is proposed in this paper. A parametric analysis of the transmission line reflection and transmission features is also presented showing the dependence of the stopband characteristics on the main geometrical parameters. Finally, the main effects of the proposed PBG filter in an AIA amplifier design are pointed out including harmonic tuning and output power increase.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
