In this paper, a novel and very efficient design method for tapered strip lines used as microwave filters is proposed. This method is carried out starting from the generalized nonuniform transmission-line theory, and it is based on a new closed analytical form of the voltage reflection coefficient for such lines. Se¨eral numerical results are presented to show the capabilities, the accuracy, and the ease of the method developed here.
