In this period of strong economical crisis it is indispensable, as supported also by the European Union, to invest on the development of human resources for promoting employment and work power qualification. This would enable individuals to respond to economical and societal changes to identify their capacities, competences and interests, and to help them make occupational decisions to manage their own career paths. In the area of orientation this has led to new meanings, revised ideas and methodologies, novel tools and even changes in professional practice. This paper aims to illustrate the first results of the European project CREA.M, regarding the construction of possible devices for the certification of non-formal and informal competencies.
