[Abstract present in the periodical] The a. aims at showing that the myth of Wilsonianism spread also in Italy in particular during 1918. In this connection, not only Wilson's ideals had some impact on Italian public opinion, but a positive image of the United States was offered by some organizations, such as the American Red Cross and the Young Men's Christian Association. The a. examines in detail the activities of both organizations in the Italian peninsula, in particular the ones connected with the strengthening of the morale of both soldiers and the civilian population.
