A relatively well preserved skull probably belonging to a new species of Gavialis is reported and preliminary described. This material comes from the south-eastern Pakistan (region of Sindh, Gaj Formation) and represents the oldest descibed material of the genus Gavialis as being of Early Miocene age (middle Burdigalian). Very probably the fossil coming from the Gaj river section, represents a new species. The morphology of this skull revealed that the closest form among the Indo-Pakistan fossil gharials is G. curvirostris naricus of Early-Middle Miocene.

Very probably the fossil coming from the Gaj river section, represents a new species.
