Abstract
The first quasielastic neutron scattering experiments 〈QENS〉 performed on a non discotic metallo-mesogenes, namely the coordination compound 〈DOBBA〉2Cu are reported 〈〈DOBBA〉2Cu〉 is the 〈N-〈4-dodecyl-oxy-salicydeneiminate〉-4′-butylanine〉 Copper 〈II〉. The results, compared with those obtained for usual organic liquid crystals 〈LC〉 show a translational diffusion coefficient smaller than the LC ones and, in the smectic A phases, a rotational diffusion really different from the L.C. The latter feature is analysed in the terms of a step-by-step rotation and of a partially hindered rotating molecules.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
