This articles offers some epistemological thoughts based on Lévi-Strauss’s writings. It is common to see the structural linguistics of De Saussure, Hjemslev, and the Pragueses, as the matrix of Structuralism. The French ethnologist did nothing but generalize that method. This article tries to trace back the wisdom – which the ideal profile of a structuralist scholar requires – to the scientific work that follows the structural method.
