The news about Peru that reached Europe right after the conquest has always been an object of study and reflection. The first documents that describe Peru and its treasures were soon translated into Italian, shortly after their arrival to Spain; some of them were lost in their original form and remain available in Italian only. These documents played a major role in building the image of Peru along the sixteenth century. The paper is about the Cajamarca events described in those documents.
Le notizie sul Perù arrivate in Europa subito dopo la conquista sono sempre state oggetto di studio e riflessione. I primi documenti che descrivono il Perù ei suoi tesori furono presto tradotti in italiano, poco dopo il loro arrivo. in Spagna; alcuni di essi sono andati perduti nella loro forma originale e rimangono disponibili solo in italiano. Questi documenti hanno svolto un ruolo importante nella costruzione dell'immagine del Perù per tutto il XVI secolo. L'articolo tratta degli eventi di Cajamarca descritti in quei documenti.
