At the crossroads of different theoretical approaches and in continuation of a previous reflection on the subject, this article aims at analysing the grillese, a neologism created in 2007 by the medias referring to the vocabulary used by Beppe Grillo, founder of the M5S, to address his followers under the sign of spectacularization and through emotional appeal. In particular it will point out a series of distinctive features which characterize a specific community – the M5S – and which correspond to patterned actions typical of a peculiar knowledge based on topics which are supposed to use socio-discursive behaviours in public spaces. Claiming it to be « true language » belonging to « the Country’s guts», the grillese oscillates between the pathemic and somatic and, at a closer look, it seems to have started a new kind of language, a sort of « newspeak of democratic regimes » – quoting Oustinoff – that from public to virtual space passes from mouth to mouth, from blog to blog, without any argumentative aim or a veritable subject of enunciation.
