Redes e conhecimento: as dimensões do social learning

Now that the network technologies help to redefine and rethink the education processes, in several European countries and in the rest of the world the forms of communication associated with non-typographic media are met with strong opposition from many educators and scholars. Institutionalized learning becomes a kind of ideal refuge from the evils of the world. Are the changes in education just a matter of technology or economics? Do they also affect deep anthropological, cultural and social changes? Knowledge has always been social, and the internet is responsible to remove the limitations associated with previous forms of communication. Its extension offers new possibilities of action and allows groups of people to solve problems collectively, as well as the construction of cognitive resources about issues that are too big to be handled with by individual experts. New spaces, new forms, new media, new communications, new knowledge: today a plurality of codes and a variety of forms of expression live together. A fruitful disorder, a breeding ground for new creations and unprecedented trials.
