In this paper, we present an instruction model for learning strategies based on an Intercomprehension (IC) approach, namely the pluralistic approach that aims to develop the natural tendency of speakers to understand a linguistic variety related to their first language (L1). Thus, the objective of this work is to illustrate how EuRom5, an IC based methodology, can represent a model for teaching learning strategies from a plurilingual perspective. In order to do so, in the first part of the paper we present a brief overview of the literature about learning strategies in second language learning with a focus on models for teaching learning strategies. Subsequently, the EuRom5 Model is discussed in terms of the techniques used to lead learners to develop comprehension strategies.
