Abstract
The human gesture of taking food is charged with cultural values: through rituals, rules, objects, the meal becomes an activity with a relational, aesthetic and affective dimension. Eating and cooking therefore also means building family and social ties. Recent surveys have shown that, despite the increasing difficulties to share times and places, family members, especially the Italian one, continue to consider the meal together an indispensable appointment, if only the evening and certainly that of the great occasions. Essential component of domesticity - intended as a synthesis of intimacy, familiarity and hospitality - the family meal is not only a health factor, but also a moment with a clear educational impact on both children and adults.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
