Libertà di espressione e libertà di religione: percorsi comuni, conflitti latenti e manifesti. Considerazioni preliminari.

Freedom of expression and freedom of religion coexist in an encounter-clash relationship. On the one hand, they are connected by the historical-normative evolution, as can be seen in international Charters and national Constitutions, which makes them topographically close, positivizes them with similar regulative tehniques, and influences them about their content. On the other, the conflict is about mutual boundaries. With this essay, I specifically analyze the limits that freedom of religion poses to free expression of thought,in its variations of critique and satire, with reference to the Italian case, but also with a gaze to supernational and foreign legislation and jurisprudence. I then focus on the mutations generated by the growing social multiculturalism, which sometimes leads to questionable positions in contrast with founding principles.
