“Europe 2020” is the European Union strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth through economic, social and territorial policies. The European structural and investment funds (ESIFs) are the primary form of investment for EU countries. EU institutions have invented a range of terminological expressions to manage these funds. These terms are mostly Multi-Word Expressions (MWEs) referring to legal and economic principles, bodies and procedures. For the purpose of our study we created a bilingual corpus of Italian and Portuguese institutional texts from which to extract the terms of this specific domain of EU terminology. Our study aims to analyze the EU institutional lexicon and outline the characteristics of this specific knowledge domain. Furthermore, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) decided to work in partnership with the Outermost Regions (ORs) and newly-emerging third countries, including Brazil, to achieve the strategic goals of “Europe 2020”. Brazilian Portuguese includes lexical forms that are different from those in European Portuguese, but, according to this EU decision, Brazilian Portuguese should be used for trading between the EU and Brazil. Our study found examples of Portuguese lexical forms that are not consistent with Brazilian terminology. Therefore, we think that our study may be useful to develop Linguistic Linked Open Data resources with also the lexical variants of Brazilian Portuguese for knowledge management through the Semantic web.

Abstract
Therefore, we think that our study may be useful to develop Linguistic Linked Open Data resources with also the lexical variants of Brazilian Portuguese for knowledge management through the Semantic web.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
