In the complex history of Macao, Portuguese and Chinese cultures have been related according to different models and forms, between integration and contrasts. Traces of this process are present in various novels, often of an autobiographical nature, which have the propulsive center in Macao society and its everyday life. The article analyzes the novel A trança feiticeira by Henrique de Senna Fernandes to analyze cultural integration in Macao from the point of view of languages as an instrument of identity and integration.
