The Gender Theory is a challenge for educators: it invites us to rethink the value that sexual difference has in personal identity, the symbolic and ethical relevance of the sexed body and an authentic model of relationship between man and woman. The article retraces the dual genealogy of this theory – scientific and philosophical – highlighting its critical aspects and, by contrast, adding the thought of sexual difference, which has instead rejected a neutral conception of identity, presenting a new discourse on the feminine and male. A complete formation of the person should promote an anthropological model where identity and difference are harmonized, overcoming any relational opposition.

Abstract
The Gender Theory is a challenge for educators: it invites us to rethink the value that sexual difference has in personal identity, the symbolic and ethical relevance of the sexed body and an authentic model of relationship between man and woman. The article retraces the dual genealogy of this theory – scientific and philosophical – highlighting its critical aspects and, by contrast, adding the thought of sexual difference, which has instead rejected a neutral conception of identity, presenting a new discourse on the feminine and male. A complete formation of the person should promote an anthropological model where identity and difference are harmonized, overcoming any relational opposition.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
