Abstract: New data on darkling beetles from urban Rome (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae). For the city of Rome, 45 species of darkling beetles were reported so far. the study of unexamined material collected between 1940 and 1950, has highlighted the presence of three additional species. these data suggest that the extinction of tenebrionid beetles in Rome has involved more species than it was previously possible to ascertain, due to the early disappearance of species already rare, and therefore not present in the material known until now. Recent surveys in the urban area also confirmed the presence of one species previously considered doubtful. Finally, unpublished data are reported on additional 25 species already known with certainty from the city.
