L'utopia liberale realizzata. Dalla cornice libertaria all'ordine del rizoma

In the perspective of political philosophy, this essay is a short inquiry into the presuppositions and implications of the coalescence of libertarian and progressive ideas as envisaged by eminent thinkers of the French tradition such as Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, and Felix Guattari on the one hand, and of the north-American one such as Robert Nozick on the other. The essay constitutes an attempt to shed light on the controversial relationship between the notion of libertarian framework and the concept of the order of the rhizome on the assumption that precisely such relationship is one of the main conditions for the intelligibility of the Foucauldian idea of liberalism as actualized utopia. The main purpose of the essay is to address, and possibly answer, the question of the risk inherent in turning nomad thought into the core of neo-liberalism.
