Abstract

Educating to the value of intellectual work, between habits of intelligence and moral virtues. In values education, intellectual training today seems to occupy a marginal place, since the first place is assigned to emotional and relational skills, which on the other hand for a long time have been scarcely considered in educational task. Instead, the classical tradition has always highlighted the unity of intellectual and moral virtues as an indispensable condition for human maturity. To rediscover the moral dimension of the study and, more generally, of intellectual work, the importance of educating attention, a synthesis of intelligence and desire, is underlined.
