Vita attraverso i sonetti; il canzoniere e la biografia del poeta (con note sulla sua iconografia)

The essay reflects on on some passages of Petrarch's biography that appear in the Canzoniere or that are linked to the poem, and evaluates their weight in the reconstruction of life and in the image that the poet has spread over the centuries The aim is to understand if the role played by these passages in the perception that posterity had of Petrarch's life is justified by their objective relevance or if, on the contrary, the image that has come to us in relation to the vernacular poems and the great love theme that it is expressed there is not rather the result of a cultural construction consolidated over the centuries.

Propone un ragionamento su alcuni passaggi della biografia di Petrarca che appaiono nel canzoniere o che sono legati all’opera poetica e ne valuta il peso nella ricostruzione della vita e nell’immagine che del poeta si è diffusa nel corso dei secoli, con l’obiettivo di capire se il ruolo giocato da questi passaggi nella percezione che della vita di Petrarca hanno avuto i posteri sia giustificato da una loro oggettiva rilevanza o se, al contrario, l’immagine che ci è giunta in relazione alle rime volgari e al grande tema amoroso che lì si esplica non sia piuttosto il frutto di una costruzione culturale consolidatasi nel corso dei secoli.
