L’attimo che segna il tempo. Janusz Korczak e Stefa Wilczyńska antesignani del valore assoluto dell’educazione inclusiva

Janusz Korczak and Stefa Wilczyńska offer themselves to us as two characters of high pedagogical value both for their work and for their life. First of all for having begun, in Warsaw, since the early years of the twentieth century to the early forties — years which were indelibly marked by war and Nazi-fascism — a unique experience within the orphanages of the city, developing an educational model that still remains today an unavoidable point of reference also from the perspective of inclusion. Secondly for what they have lived during the Nazi occupation and for the decision, on the tragic morning in the 5th August 1942, not to abandon their orphanages, even if they had the opportunity, and to get on the train to Treblinka where they died, together with their beloved children. Therefore, in these pages the author tries to reconstruct their profile by tracing also the plots that undoubtedly designate them as forerunners of the inclusive vision of society.

Janusz Korczak e Stefa Wilczyńska si offrono a noi come due figure dall’elevato valore pedagogico sia per la loro opera sia per la loro vita. In primo luogo per aver dato corpo a Varsavia, dai primi anni del Novecento fino ai primi anni Quaranta, segnati indelebilmente dalla guerra e dal nazifascismo, a un esperienza unica all’interno degli orfanotrofi della città, sviluppando un modello educativo che ancora oggi resta un punto di riferimento ineludibile anche nella prospettiva dell’inclusione. In secondo luogo, per quanto hanno vissuto durante l’occupazione nazista e per la decisione, nella tragica mattina del 5 agosto del 1942, di non abbandonare i loro fanciulli, pur avendone l’opportunità, e di salire sul treno per Treblinka dove hanno trovato, insieme ai loro amati bambini, la morte. In queste pagine, l’autore cerca dunque di riscostruire il loro profilo cercando di rintracciare anche le trame che li designano senza dubbio alcuno quali antesignani della visione inclusiva della società.
