Sui sogni. Indagine su un'operetta, fra Moscopulo e la scuola di Mistrà

The article discusses a short work about dreams written in the late-Byzantine era. The first critical edition of the original text is provided as an appendix to the article. This text has reached us through two manuscripts (Neap. Orat. C. F. 2.11, olim XXII.1, and Escor. Φ. I. 10), and scholars have ascribed it to “Moschopoulos” on the basis of a marginal note in ms. Neap., fol. 158r. The author of the article provides a commentary on the philosophical contents of the work. He also tries to reconstruct its stemma codicum. In conclusion, due to a likely connection with the commentary by Nicephorus Gregoras on Synesius’ On Dreams, the author conjectures that the work was composed in the late 14th century and used as educational text at Gemistus Pletho’s school in Mystras in the 15th century.

L’articolo verte su un’operetta dedicata ai sogni, risalente alla tarda età bizantina. La prima edizione critica del testo è riportata in appendice al contributo. L’operetta ci è stata trasmessa da due manoscritti (Neap. Orat. C. F. 2.11, olim XXII.1, ed Escor. Φ. I. 10); alcuni eruditi l’hanno attribuita a “Moscopulo” sulla base di una nota marginale contenuta nel ms. Neap., al fol. 158r. L’autore dell’articolo fornisce un commento al contenuto filosofico dell’operetta. Tenta anche di ricostruirne lo stemma codicum. In conclusione, causa una probabile connessione con il commento di Niceforo Gregora al Trattato sui sogni di Sinesio, l’autore ipotizza che l’operetta sia stata redatta alla fine del XIV secolo e utilizzata come testo didattico presso la scuola di Gemisto Pletone a Mistrà nel XV secolo.
