Medea, in Christa Wolf’s version is liberated from the functional, archetypal trait of the wild feminine fury that overflows into infanticide. The essay presents also how in Wolf’s Medea shows the literary outcomes of a new feminist atmosphere, as it matures between the Eighties and Nineties of the Twentieth century. A laboratory of alternative civilizations, shared by those feminisms that take seriously the opportunities to radically redefine the criteria of human coexistence and its productions
