In this paper the Montagna dei Fiori (Eastern-Central Apennines) is studied by means of the mesostructural analyses of the ductile and brittle elements and a geological map at the scale 1:25 000 is presented. The stratigraphic sequences consist of limestones, marls and sandstones of the Lower Lias (Upper Trias)-Messinian age, belonging to the Umbro-Marchean sequence. The complex Jurassic paleogeography of the area generated lacunose sequences deposited in structural high-paleoenvironment nearby complete sequences of deeper sea-paleoenvironment. The reconstruction of the geometric style of this structure, allowed us to recognize the presence of an overturned anticline overthrusted toward the east over the Laga formation units. The mesostructural analyses allow us to reconstruct the tectonic evolution of the area during the Apennine orogenesis. More recently the Montagna dei Fiori area was interested by two extensional tectonic phases producing the displacement of the entire structure. -from English summary

Abstract
-from English summaryI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
