The essay offers an excursus on the concept of exemplarity starting from Kant's pre-critical writings, in which exemplarity is linked to the method of science (ars inveniendi) illustrated and clarified in the Lectures on Logic. Fur-thermore, the paper analyses distances and proximities between example (Beispiel) and exemplarity in Kant's ethical and aesthetic reflections, hi-ghlighting how the notion of example (Beispiel) acquires meaning and value in Kant's philosophy if conceived under the aegis of exemplarity.
