This paper proposes a solution to the challenges faced by traditional leadership training through the use of a personal learning cloud (PLC). The PLC is a collection of online courses, social and interactive platforms, and learning tools that provide a solution to the skills transfer gap that makes it difficult to acquire interpersonal and relational skills in traditional management training settings. The components of the PLC include MOOCs, interactive online content delivery platforms, and on-demand, solutioncentric approaches to leadership development, among others. The paper suggests using Alexander the Great as a case study for leadership education, as he is one of the most important figures in world history and his achievements in spreading Hellenistic culture throughout the world offer valuable insights into leadership. The framework of guiding principles outlined in the paper is applicable to the curricula of universities in different global contexts, and emphasizes the importance of including both hard and soft skills courses in order to reinforce the values of a humanistic pedagogy. The paper concludes that the PLC is an efficient solution to the skills transfer gap in traditional management training settings.
