The book edited by Emilio José Gómez Ciriano, Elena Cabiati and Sofia Dedotsi, offers a careful and empirically grounded analysis of social work in the context of migration and asylum seeking in eight European countries. 20 authors contribute to providing not only an original but also a comparative picture of the situation in Europe (also including the UK and Switzerland) many of them being part of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Social Work Research on Migration and Asylum (SWIM) established in 2016 within the European Social Work Research Association (ESWRA). The edited volume aims to bring together contributions on approaches and visions about social work and migration, and to raise critical awareness about challenges for social work research, education, and practice.
