In this paper, my aim is to contribute to field of research on Conspircy Theories (CTs) by highlighting the potential relevance of a factor that has not been explored systematically in the literature so far, i.e., the fact that CTs are great narratives. I suggest that insights coming from the field of narrative persuasion (NP) could fruitfully inform the study of the psychological factors accounting for the endorsement of CTs.

Abstract

In this paper, my aim is to contribute to field of research on Conspircy Theories (CTs) by highlighting the potential relevance of a factor that has not been explored systematically in the literature so far, i.e., the fact that CTs are great narratives. I suggest that insights coming from the field of narrative persuasion (NP) could fruitfully inform the study of the psychological factors accounting for the endorsement of CTs.
