Indeed, the latter is based on a dynamic of appropriation and transformation of what the author experienced from childhood to adolescence, in particular her suffering and anger, but also learned, such as the potentialities of literary elaboration revealed to her by her favourite authors.

Abstract

A rebellious and transgressive novelist of the late nineteenth century, Rachilde often recalls in her writings, in the first or third person, significant events in her “formation”. This key word sums up both her education and her earliest family, emotional and imaginative experiences. These intimate elements have left deep traces in his novels. Rachilde, romancière rebelle et transgressive de la fin du XIXe siècle, rappelle souvent, dans ses écrits à la première ou à la troisième personne, des éléments significatifs de sa « formation », un mot qui englobe son éducation ainsi que ses expériences familiales, affectives et imaginatives les plus précoces. Ces contenus ont laissé des traces profondes dans son œuvre romanesque, laquelle est fondée sur une dynamique d’appropriation et de transformation de ce qu’elle avait appris à l’époque de son enfance et de son adolescence, notamment ses souffrances et ses colères, mais aussi les potentialités de l’élaboration littéraire que ses auteurs préférés lui ont révélées.
