The paper analyses a complex and varied printed material on the Roman Curia published in the 16th-19th centuries (Reports, Instructions, Synopses, Treaties, Guides) in order to show how it can be a complementary source for reconstructing the history of the various dicasteries, their composition, the variation of competences, and the prosopography of officials.
