Abstract
During the years of Fascism, Silvio d'Amico's role in Italian theatre was central and decisive. The article offers a discussion of the main studies that have dealt with him, observing what questions they have posed, or how they have recounted his actions and ideas. Given the vastness of the area of investigation, it has been chosen here to consider only monographs or monographic issues of journals specifically dedicated to him, trying to set theses, definitions or accusations in motion by comparing different opinions. A brief frame of reference on his figure is thus offered, trying to show areas that, amidst many established certainties, still seem to be largely unexplored. A reconsideration of the importance and meaning of Silvio d'Amico's reform proposals, aimed at reclaiming the vitality of a theatre whose very legitimacy, during the fascist dictatoship, seemed to be questioned by many.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
