In view of the ongoing climate change, the Netherlands has also adopted a new approach to water management. The result of this new strategy is the National Water Plan, which outlines the country’s water policy with a time horizon of 2050. An interesting example of this new vision is the extension project of the romantic park called Dwaalster Park Vijversburg, designed by Rotterdam-based LOLA Landscape Architects, in collaboration with Dutch landscape architect Piet Oudolf. The project focuses on several themes. The first, reducing risks by bringing water back into the park through a network of ponds and canals. The second, to strengthen the connection with the Historical Park by introducing art paths in nature with site-specific works and last, but certainly the most iconic, to reinterpret the connection between water and nature through a contemporary remix of certain symbolic elements such as the star-shaped forest or the labyrinth of Renaissance gardens.

Abstract
In view of the ongoing climate change, the Netherlands has also adopted a new approach to water management. The result of this new strategy is the National Water Plan, which outlines the country’s water policy with a time horizon of 2050. An interesting example of this new vision is the extension project of the romantic park called Dwaalster Park Vijversburg, designed by Rotterdam-based LOLA Landscape Architects, in collaboration with Dutch landscape architect Piet Oudolf. The project focuses on several themes. The first, reducing risks by bringing water back into the park through a network of ponds and canals. The second, to strengthen the connection with the Historical Park by introducing art paths in nature with site-specific works and last, but certainly the most iconic, to reinterpret the connection between water and nature through a contemporary remix of certain symbolic elements such as the star-shaped forest or the labyrinth of Renaissance gardens.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
